Modular Wards,

Bradford Royal Infirmary

The seemingly impossible challenge was to complete two twenty-eight bed wards before the commencement of winter pressures, i.e. before Christmas, and within a six-month turnaround from project inception to completion. This project was a marathon task for all stakeholders and is legendary within the NHS.

Stakeholder engagement, design team strategy and Contractors’ can-do attitudes all facilitated this industry exemplar scheme. Working in a fast-track environment we delivered this project in time for Christmas allowing patient occupation to alleviate winter bed pressures. The quality of the accommodation was second to none and was real testament to each and every person involved.

Project Undertaken by Bridger & Carr whilst at previous practice.
